The Selection Committee will determine the Ontario Junior and Young Riders representatives at NAJYRC 2012 based upon the Committee`s observation of horse and rider combinations declared by candidates.
In 2012 there will not be any mandatory trials, thus candidate`s results are significant to their selection.
Your results beginning August 1st 2011 (in classes that qualify you for your Young Riders Division - Junior 1.40m (4'7") with spreads between 1.40m and 1.70m // Young Riders 1.50m (4'11") with spreads 1.50m and 1.80m, and open water.) and continuing through the Fall of 2011, the 2011/12 winter and spring circuits as well as 2012 Summer circuits up to July 1st 2012, will be considered by the 2012 NAJYRC selection committee.
In order to be considered as a representative for either the Junior or Young Rider Team, you must have consistently demonstrated capability, in competition, at the height and width of your division. You also must show proficiency at the open water in competition.
Horse and Rider Championship combinations (for each team) will be named by July 1st, 2012. Up to four (4) riders and a reserve will be named. Any change to the named and reserve will be allowed only in consultation with the Selection Committee.
Riders will be asked to jog their horses for soundness at appropriate times during the selection process. All ``jogs`` will be announced in advance. Both rider and horse should be properly presented for the jog. NOTE: the Selection Committee reserves the right to eliminate from consideration any declared horse it believes will not successfully pass the NAJYRC veterinary inspection.
All registrants receive an armband for identification as either a Junior of Young rider candidate. You should wear your armband in any classes of your choice when you are competing on your declared horse(s).
