PONY POWER SERIES

The OHJA is proud to host 3 Pony Power days at select horse shows throughout the summer as well as the Pony Power Handy Hunter Final in September.  At these shows one round of the Small Pony, Medium Pony and Large Pony Division will be designed as a Handy course and scored under numerical scoring. This class is intended to encourage developing rider skills at the same time as educating parents and riders with announced scoring.  Placings in a Pony Power class will determine qualifiers for the Final. Handy course could consist of: rollback, trot fence, hand gallop fence, bending line, halt, option fence, bounce, direct line to/from a jump to the in gate. Scores will be based on traditional hunter criteria with an emphasis on style and handiness. Formal attire is not required for Qualifiers. Ponies will be required to jog.

The OHJA will provide special Pony Power ribbons and awards for these classes.  One round of the Children's Pony, Green Pony and Short Stirrup divisions at the Pony Power shows will be run with open scoring, OHJA ribbons and prizes.  Provincial Award points will be awarded in these classes as per Equine Canada rules .
